Menangle Park Show was definitely the place to be for horse competition with a difference on Sunday [September 25].
Hundreds of worthy competitors from the youngest ages up brought their worthy steads to compete in an equestrian event at the track already made famous for its harness racing.
The second annual show held at Club Menangle in the middle of Australia's premier harness racing track was a resounding success building on the foundation year, according to CEO of Club Menangle Bruce Christison, who is enthusiastic about the show’s future.
"Our dedicated Horse Secretary for the Show, Julie Butler, did a fantastic job,” said Christison.
“I'm glad we've been able to concentrate on horse eventing without a sideshow alley or rides and showbags.
“It's a horse thing . . . we want it to become the best equestrian event around and with new sponsors Clintons Toyota I believe we will raise the bar even further in the years to come.”
What made the day even more appealing was that the show also incorporated a pavilion of photography and local art and craft.
Plans are for the show to be held annually on the last weekend of September.
