Since the inaugural Miracle Mile, five decades ago, no single harness race in Australia, or New Zealand, has attracted as much media attention as the Miracle Mile.
And the 2018 edition of the $750,000 Ainsworth Miracle Mile, to be conducted on Saturday Night 24th February, promises to be nothing less. With the final field yet to be decided, it is difficult to picture the ‘Mile’ without two Superstars of Australasian Harness racing, Lennytheshark and Lazarus going head to head down the long Menangle straight.
Or is there a new superstar waiting to make his mark in Heaven Rocks. The Allstars team of Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen have indicated they cannot wait to get the brilliant, but at times erratic pacer, to Menangle.
The crowd will no doubt be cheering home local favourites the tough as nails Tiger Tara and NSW Horse of the Year Bling It On. Watch them all compete for a spot in the Miracle Mile in the Canadian Club and Allied Express Sprints on 17th February.
The Chariots of Fire on Saturday 10th February will once again carry an automatic invite to the Ainsworth Miracle Mile. Could the next Miracle Mile hero come from an exciting crop of 4yo’s contesting the $200,000 time honoured event?
You need to be at Tabcorp Park Menangle on the 10th,17th and 24th February to see how history unfolds.
